SERVING YORK by GIVING

Volunteering is one of the primary ways we encourage the Belfrey congregations to engage with small one-off social transformation projects as well as praying for Jesus’ love to be spread throughout York. We have a different focus each quarter on four main areas so everyone can join in volunteering outside the church in our community.

We also use this as a way to signpost to longer term volunteering with our Social Transformation projects and other York charities.

In 2025, our focus each season will be as follows:

In previous years, we’ve focussed on : homelessness, asylum seekers, families, foodbank, hampers to CAP clients, and other families in need through Besom.

Projects we are involved with

York has some incredible charities working to serve our community, and we love partnering with and growing relationships with these organisations. Some of them were were set up or are now run by members of our church.

We first partnered with the national Love Your Neighbour campaign in 2021, but it has grown now to be a central part of our aim to support those in York working to relieve hardship and disadvantage within and importantly beyond our church family throughout our city.
